EELI is currently very full and at capacity of student enrollment. Admissions are decided upon on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the EELI office before applying to see if there is room for you.
Note to Saudi Arabian applicants:
The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission has capped EELI Admissions until further notice due to the large percentage of Saudi students enrolled. Therefore, prior approval from the SACM must be obtained before Saudi Arabian students apply to EELI. EELI may no longer accept self-paying students. All Saudi Arabian applicants MUST arrive on time at EELI with scholarship letter already in hand. That means students coming to EELI must stop at the SACM office in Washington, DC a week BEFORE coming to EELI on the first day of the term as directed in the EELI calendar, to allow for SACM processing and travel time. Please note that EELI does NOT accept late arrivals. Late arrivals must return to their country of origin or transfer to another institution.
About EELI
EELI is a language and cultural bridge program for international students who have not yet developed the English language skills necessary for university study in the US. Located at Eastern Kentucky University, situated in the heart of Kentucky’s bluegrass region, EELI is dedicated to preparing students for the challenge of higher education coursework in English. The beautiful landscape and friendly, small town atmosphere create a welcoming and safe environment perfect for study. Located within a day’s travel to numerous metropolitan areas such as Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Nashville, and Washington, DC, students can experience the varieties of American culture while taking advantage of the security and hospitality of a small town. Experienced instructors and staff are sensitive to the needs of students who are not only learning a different language, but a different culture. Focused language and cultural instruction makes EELI a beautiful place to transition to collegiate life in the US.
